Hello Katabah!
In Arabic language, verb
is known as fi’il. The verb is consisting of
1. fi’il madhi (Past
Tense)
Fi’il madhi is usually
used to search some word from an Arabic dictionary. People say that it is a
word root.
Example:
نَصَرَ
(helped)
ضَرَبَ
(hit [verb 2])
فَتَحَ
(opened)
2. fi’il mudhari
(Present Tense or Future Tense(
Example:
يَنْصُرُ
(help or will help)
يَضْرِبُ
(hit or will hit)
يَفْتَحُ
(open or will open)
3. fi’il amar (command)
Example:
اُنْصُرْ!
(help!)
اِضْرِبْ!
(hit!)
اِفْتَحْ!
(Open!)
Related to fi’il amar,
we can add word “tafadol” (please). For example:
تَفَضَّلْ اُنْصُرْ!
(Help, please!)
تَفَضَّلْ اِضْرِبْ!
(Hit, please!)
تَفَضَّلْ اِفْتَحْ!
(Open, please!)
4. Arabic also has fi’il
nahyi. It is prohibition verb.
لَاتَنْصُرْ!
(Don’t help!)
لَاتَضْرِبْ!
(Don’t hit!)
لَاتَفْتَحْ!
(Don’t Open!)
We also can translate
from the examples of fi’il nahyi as following:
Don’t you help!
Don’t you hit!
Don’t you open!
