Indian Films are most popular in Indonesia. I even hear a joke from acronym of a national television, TPI. Because this channel often showed Indian films, some people say that TPI is Televisi Pilm India (Indian Film Television).

Whereas actually TPI is Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia. He..he..

These are the Indian films:


1. Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham

It’s about wedding with a girl from middle class.


2. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

It’s about love triangle. It is almost no antagonist character.

3. Three Idiots

It’s about critic for education system in universities. I do like this film. I can make me to think critically again to assess quality of universities in Indonesia more objectively.

Although I only watch it not more than 3 times, I remember that when a student is asked to teach in front of class and his ‘killer’ lecture sit down with other students to ‘listen’ (examine by belittling) him. In the time, the student asks a question that no student can answer, including the lecture.

In fact, the student only creates a words game that’s taken from names of his friends. With this case, I can see that most of his friends only can memorize lessons, without thinking them. I think the habit (memorizing only) occurs in Indonesia too.
