Hello Katabah!
Exactly, Indonesian language doesn’t have a complex tenses
pattern because of no substantially change in a verb according to a subject.
Let’s make examples about verbal sentences in Present Tense
pattern by Indonesian Language.
A. Subject + verb + object
B. No change in a verb for all subjects (no adding –s/es)
Examples:
1. Mereka pergi ke Indonesia.
(They go to Indonesia)
2. Kami pergi ke Indonesia.
(We go to Indonesia)
3. Saya pergi ke Indonesia.
(I go to Indonesia)
4. Kamu pergi ke Indonesia
(You go to Indonesia)
5. Dia (female) pergi ke Indonesia.
(She goes to Indonesia)
6. Dia (male) pergi ke Indonesia.
(He goes to Indonesia)
7. Ia (noun/animal) pergi ke Indonesia
(It goes to Indonesia)
Now, we can understand more that verb “pergi” (go) doesn’t
change for all subjects, either singular or plural, alright?
