Let’s explore Sundanese
culture and language to get unique things. On this post, I share how to make
sentence to express “What is your name?”
Vocabulary:
What: naon (On the
expression above, “what” means “who” (Sundanese: saha)
is: nyaeta (On the
expression above, we don’t translate it)
your name: ngaran maneh (not polite), nami anjeun
(middle polite), jenengan salira (polite)
Let’s see the
vocabularies on some sentences to translate “What is your name?” below!
To our friend (not
polite):
Saha ngaran maneh?
To our friend (middle
polite):
Saha nami anjeun?
To our friend (polite):
Saha jenengan salira?
To our teacher (polite):
Dupi jenengan Bapak
saha?
(What is your name,
sir?)
Dupi jenengan Ibu saha?
(What is your name,
mom?)
